My art reflects a deep personal connection with a subject.
To begin, I photograph and research a subject. Then, I sketch it, and create a painting, sculpture, or print. I thrive on experimenting with new techniques and materials in different mediums. My ideas come from having lived internationally for the past 20 years and observing wildlife in Central and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. I visit wildlife preservation centers, or animals in their natural habitats. From my paintings of turtles in Hawaii to my prints of lemurs in Madagascar, I hope to encourage conservation. I live in Hawaii and volunteer with Hawaii Marine Animal Response (HMAR).
Art connects me spiritually to the animal kingdom in all its incredible diversity and fragility.
